Eggstreme Farming Machines that walk so you can vend
Collector and water refill are launch tools. You still pour feed, medicate, and sell trays.
The May 2026 demo made you do every step on foot: fill bins, pick eggs, carry trays, Tab the clock. The 4 September 2026 launch added two enclosure machines — the Automatic Egg Collector and the Automatic Water Refill — plus time acceleration at any hour. That is not a fully idle farm. Feed, medicine, vaccines, licenses, and the vending machine still need you. Buy silicon after the flock pays rent, or the machines become two more delivery boxes you cannot afford to unpack.

What launch actually added
From Sagitta Studios’ full-game notes:
- Automatic Egg Collector — picks eggs in the enclosure so they are not rotting on dirt while you are in the house.
- Automatic Water Refill — keeps enclosure water containers filled.
- Time acceleration at any moment — Tab is no longer a night-only trick.
- Extra quality of life that supports machines: partial tray sales, a six-egg tray, bill warnings, and the ability to sell animals.
The demo explicitly excluded “several automation systems.” If a YouTuber’s May footage has no collector, that is expected. Patch context is in the launch notes.
Each store item now has its own delivery box model. Machines unpack like hens: outside, then place. Do not open a collector crate inside the fence. Placement keys are unchanged — controls if C fights you.
Who should buy water refill first
Buy Automatic Water Refill first if:
- You already run two or more birds in a pen.
- You Tab or sleep overnight and wake up to health hits that trace to empty water, not empty food.
- You can pay the machine and still cover rent plus utilities the same day.
Skip it if you have one white hen and a bill warning. Walking one water bin is cheaper than a crate. The refill machine does not pour feed and does not medicate. After it is down, your care loop shrinks to food, health, and immunity — still mandatory, still described in animal care.
Place it where you can still reach the food bin and see the birds. A machine that blocks the green sign is how you fail the next placement.
Who should buy the egg collector first
Buy the Automatic Egg Collector when eggs on the ground are the bottleneck: you have enough layers that cartons lag behind production, or Tab-skipping leaves a carpet of whites you cannot click before a bill. Collectors shine on a busy chicken pen (white plus brown plus blue) more than on a single starter hen.
The collector does not vend. It does not walk to the machine in the yard and sell. You still carry trays. Launch’s partial sales and six-egg tray are the other half of that pipeline: collect automatically, sell as soon as six or a partial dozen exist if cash is tight.
Community wish-lists already ask for collectors that pull empty trays from storage and ship full ones to crates. That is not in the launch list. Plan as if you are still the logistics staff.
If you must choose one crate this week, pick by failure mode:
- Birds losing health overnight → water refill.
- Eggs piling while you are at the computer → collector.
- Both failing because you never bought a second hen → neither; buy the hen.
What stays manual
Automation does not replace:
- Feed quality and pouring. Empty food still stalls laying. Better feed still supports larger eggs.
- Medicine and vaccines. Launch adjusted health and immunity loss; bars still drop.
- Licenses. A collector will not pick a color you are not allowed to produce.
- Species pens. Machines sit in a yard you rented. They do not convert a chicken pen into a duck pen.
- The vending machine. Trays still travel by hand.
- Bills. Electricity likely leans on extra hardware. Pay water, power, and internet before you Tab a full day.
Time accel anytime is the quiet third “machine.” It is free, it is dangerous, and it is how you skip into a dry food bin if refill is the only automation you bought. Fill feed, check medicine, then hold Tab. The bed remains the clean night skip.
Suggested buy order
- White license, hen, pen, tray — no machines.
- Second hen, brown when XP allows.
- Water refill if overnight thirst is the pain.
- Shelves so trays have a home (farm expansion).
- Egg collector once three-plus layers outrun your hands.
- Duck/goose/turkey pens only with licenses in hand.
XP tasks and 34 achievements still assume you touch the farm. A collector will not pop Turkey Time for you. Use machines to protect the loop you already understand, then spend the saved walks on sales and the next license — not on plants.
