Eggstreme Farming Tray, color, vending machine

Eggs on dirt do not pay. The wrong carton will not either.

How to Sell Eggs

The hottest launch-week Steam thread on Eggstreme Farming is still Can’t get eggs out of egg box. Players pick a white hen, fill a carton, walk to the wrong hole, or mix a golden egg into a white dozen and then decide the vendor is broken. This page is the sell loop only: which tray, which machine, partial versus dozen, and how to unstick a carton. Cash strategy lives in how to make money. Invoices live in bills.

If you have not seated a bird yet, getting started first.

Eggs sell at the vending machine — the grey cabinet with the screen that lists small / medium / large values. An in-game shot of a white-chicken tray showed $0.56 small, $0.75 medium, $0.94 large, totaling $25.13 for 16 medium plus 14 large. Those numbers move with patches. The rule does not: interact with the machine while holding a matching tray. Putting eggs on a shelf does not vend. Putting them on dirt does not vend. The launch collector does not vend.

Buy a tray on the Market Trays tab before you wander the yard. Color must match. A brown egg will not sit legally in a white-chicken carton. Gold is its own type — see golden eggs.

Dozen, six-egg, partials

The May demo wanted a full dozen. Launch (4 September 2026) added a six-egg tray and partial tray sales so you can dump a half carton when a bill warning is up. Use six-egg while you have one hen. Use a dozen when two or three whites can fill it. Do not buy a stack of empty plastic on hour one — each tray is cash you could have spent on feed.

A 30-pack of small whites in one demo clip paid about eighteen dollars. Treat that as atmosphere. Size still tracks care: fill bins so mediums become larges, detailed in animal care.

Eggs stuck in the box

When a carton will not empty:

  1. Confirm you are looking at the vending machine, not a shelf, not a delivery crate, not the farm computer.
  2. Confirm the tray type matches the eggs (white chicken tray for white chicken eggs).
  3. Close any Market UI. Tab with the computer open feels sticky; controls cover that.
  4. If a gold egg is in a white dozen, pull gold out by hand into a gold tray. Mixed cartons are how the vendor “eats” your sale.
  5. Launch lets you sell partials. You no longer need twelve to click sell.

There is no documented “shake carton” key. G is throw. Do not throw the tray into a trash bin. Brooms and trays you toss are how Steam threads start.

Collector versus vendor

The Automatic Egg Collector puts eggs into reach. It does not walk to the machine. Gold often skips the collector entirely. You still carry a tray. You still hit the vendor. Automation timing is in automation.

XP is part of the sale

Collecting and selling grant XP toward the next license on the walkthrough. Brown eggs paid more XP per pickup in some demo clips. Launch rebalanced XP. Sell because you need cash and because the toast First White Eggs will not pop on dirt piles. Named locks are on achievements.

If the carton still will not sell after a matching tray and a closed UI, restart the day only as a last resort — that was a demo-era workaround for frozen hens, not a vending trick. Then pay the bills you aged while standing there.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common farm questions.

How do I sell eggs in Eggstreme Farming?

Carry a matching tray to the vending machine and interact. Dirt and shelves do not pay. Full steps are on how to sell eggs.

Why can’t I get eggs out of the egg box?

Wrong machine, mixed colors, or a full-dozen rule from the demo. Launch allows partials and a six-egg tray. See this page and controls.

Can I mix white and gold in one tray?

No. Gold is a separate type. Use a gold tray. Details in golden eggs.

Does the automatic collector sell for me?

No. It only picks (and may skip gold). You still vend. See automation.

Do I need a full dozen to sell?

Not at launch. Partial sales and a six-egg tray shipped on 4 September 2026. Use them when bills are due.
