Eggstreme Farming (Steam, Windows, 4 September 2026) drops you into a first-person yard with almost no cash and a computer that already wants licenses, rent, and bills. The opening hour is not a sandbox — it is a solvency puzzle. Follow this order and you will have a white hen in the correct pen, a tray on the vending machine, and enough buffer to survive the first utility cycle. Skip a step and you will own a bird you cannot legally produce for, or a crate you cannot seat.

What you are actually managing

The loop is short and strict:

1. Buy a license for a specific egg type (start with white chicken eggs).
2. Buy the matching animal from the market.
3. Rent the species pen from Management (the chicken yard has a green sign).
4. Unpack the delivery box in open space, then place the bird in that pen.
5. Keep food and water filled so production does not stall.
6. Collect eggs into trays and sell them at the vending machine.
7. Pay water, electricity, and internet plus daily pen rent.
8. Spend XP from tasks on the next license, not on furniture you cannot afford.

Sagitta Studios ships four species — chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys — and several egg colors (white, brown, blue, golden). None of that matters until white chicken eggs are printing cash. The animal tier list and egg tier list explain later buys.

First purchases on the farm computer

Find the indoor computer. Tabs you will use on minute one:

• Market — licenses, animals, trays, feed, medicine, furniture.
• Management — pen rentals.
• Bank — small loans at steep interest (clips show about 12%). Avoid this until a bill is about to bounce.
• Music — ignore it until the farm is stable.

Demo-era videos put starting cash near sixty dollars, a white-egg license in the mid-twenties, a white hen in the high twenties, and chicken-pen rent at a few dollars per day. Treat those as snapshots from pre-release builds, not a live API. The structure is what matters: license before hen, pen before placement, tray before you wander the yard hoping eggs sell themselves.

Buy a chicken-egg tray the moment you can. Eggs on the dirt do not pay bills.

Unpacking and seating the first hen

Delivery boxes are easy to mishandle. Community clips and the Steam discussion board keep hitting the same traps:

• Do not try to “clean” a pen with a hidden hotkey. There is no separate scrub command that players have documented. You rent the matching species pen, unpack, and place.
• Unpack outside the fence. One early clip showed a hen that refused to walk after being unpacked inside the box or the pen; restarting the day was the workaround at the time.
• Place only in the chicken pen. Duck and turkey yards reject chickens even if they look empty.
• Look for the green text on the sign when the rental is active.

If placement fails, reread controls before you buy a second animal. A second crate on a blocked pen is how the first morning dies.

Food, water, and the first tray

Once the hen is seated:

• Fill the food bin. Demo builds offered two feed qualities; better feed supports better sizes later. Rank mixes on the feed tier list.
• Fill water. Launch added an automatic water refill machine — do not buy it before the first license is paid off.
• Watch health and immunity. Medicine and vaccines exist for a reason; a sick bird is a silent rent payment.
• Pick eggs into the tray. Medium white eggs in demo clips sold for well under a dollar each; large eggs paid more. Care quality is the size lever.
• Carry the tray to the vending machine. At launch you may sell partially filled trays and a new six-egg tray exists beside the classic dozen. Use partial sales if a bill is due tonight.

Night still happens. Tab fast-forwards time (launch allows this at any hour). A bed, added in demo 0.2.1, skips the night. Animals were briefly bugged to stop laying after sleep — that was patched. Details live in demo history.

Bills, XP, and what not to buy yet

Utilities tick even if you stare at one hen. Pen rent stacks on top. The profit planner is the checklist for “can I rent pen two?” — the short answer on hour one is no.

XP comes from collecting, selling, and care tasks. Spend it on the brown-egg license when white trays are routine, not on plants. Furniture and shelves help later when trays overflow; they do not print eggs. The walkthrough covers the license ladder through ducks, geese, turkeys, and golden stock.

Skip the bank unless a bill warning (launch feature) is already on screen. Interest on a sixty-dollar farm is how you work for the lender.

After the first successful sale

You are past the tutorial wall when:

• One white hen is producing in the chicken pen.
• At least one tray has sold.
• Food and water are not empty.
• You know where bills are paid on the computer.
